This is a gentle stroll along the river bank and then through light woodland back to Ely which should leave you plenty of time to enjoy the second smallest city in England. The cathedral which dominates Ely even offers tours up the Octagon which is definitely worth the climb, finishing with you actually standing on the lead roof!

The Prince Albert has a lovely beer garden, great home-cooked food and well kept cask ales and is recommended in the The Good Beer Guide .

This ale trail features a choice of pubs which you can find under the Linked pub walks section below. When adding a review please go to the entry for the pub that you visited so you can write review there.

OS MAPS really enhance enjoyment of pub walks and taking one with you is highly recommended. You can buy OS Maps for Ely from Amazon via My Pub Walks On-line Store.
